The Council serves as a social action umbrella for the church to determine issues of importance to us, as UU, and to help us take social action as a group and as individuals. The Green Sanctuary Committee came from this council as our commitment to the Seventh Principle and oversees the environmental issues of our church, its property, and works within the community by participating in Earth Day activities. Local Community Outreach in the coming year (2010-2011) will include prison outreach and adult literacy. Economic Justice is another issue the Council and congregation will be working on in the coming year. As always, we encourage members and friends to write letters to our congressional representatives and local leaders on an on-going basis.  These are organized by the Social Action Council with information following worship services. The Council presents one worship service a year, and a bulletin board is maintained to reach out to all who enter our church with upcoming events and information on both local and world issues.
