The Keene Unitarian Universalist Church is a nurturing, accepting community where people of diverse beliefs and circumstances celebrate together and support one another. This church is a place where we give voice to religious feelings and experiences, where we can be part of a spiritual tradition, and extend our caring into the world.
A Unitarian Universalist ceremony is flexible and can accommodate various faith traditions. Each one is a unique expression, adapted to the couple.
Keene Unitarian Universalist Church Building
The overall style of the building is modified Gothic. The building was built in 1894 with a formal dedication being held January 24, 1895. The exterior is built of locally harvested granite blocks from the nearby Roxbury quarries.
Our Starr Memorial Garden around the side of the building offers a great location for photos in the warmer months.
The sanctuary boasts beautiful southern pine ceilings and trim combined with rich wine colored carpeting and the golden honey tone of the pews and organ which makes for an elegant backdrop to any service.
Our sanctuary accommodates up to 450 guests. We have a pipe organ and a baby grand piano.

• Our facility is not air-conditioned.
• We do not have a parking lot. Parking is available along Washington Street. Please do not park in the driveway or block our neighbor’s driveways.
Minister Fee:
$450
An initial meeting is required to get acquainted and plan the ceremony.
Premarital Counseling is available at no extra cost.
A $100 deposit directly to the Minister, toward the fee is due at the time of initial meeting. Our minister is available for off site ceremonies for the same fee.

Sanctuary Fee:
$400
A $100 deposit toward the fee is due to the office at the time of initial meeting.
Please note: Facility fees are paid directly to the KUUC Church Office and must be paid prior to the event
Please note: the fee for the Sanctuary includes rehearsal time the day
prior to the ceremony
Sexton Fee:
Please note: A (non-negotiable) church Sexton is required to be present during your event. This person will be there to unlock/lock the doors, deal with any building problems and help with the flow of people.
$75-for rental of Sanctuary $125-for rental of Parish Hall & Sanctuary
Please note: the fee for the Sexton must be paid prior to the event
Organist/Pianist Fee:
$300-the fee includes the ceremony, rehearsal and initial consultation
KUUC has an Organist/Pianist on staff. Vladimir Odinokikh is a Professional Church Musician and must play here at KUUC. He can also accompany a soloist of your choice but an additional fee may apply. If he is unavailable, he may give permission for another qualified musician to play the KUUC instruments. You are responsible for discussing all fees, his availability and other details directly with him.

Please note: It is up to you to contact our Organist/Piansit to book him for your ceremony and rehearsal. Organist/Pianist fees are paid directly to Vladimir Odinokikh.
Additional Room Rental Fees:
Alliance Room Some parties choose to rent our Alliance Room for an additional $75 for the bridal party to prepare for the service. More information is available upon request.
Parish Hall/Kitchen is available for $200 for small receptions. Maximum capacity is 80 people, with tables and chairs. 177 people with chairs only. If you are interested in serving alcohol, you must provide a copy of your homeowner's insurance that includes liability coverage.
